On a mission to find snow this year? Or maybe you’re searching for a foodie holiday?  Therefore, a trip might be in the works in order to track down that favorite festive definition depending on your winter passions. There are countless destinations that typically receive snowfall this winter time and many others that are getting in the Christmas spirit. Nonetheless, with the holiday season around the corner and the season of festivities drawing nearer, these destinations appeal to all sorts of travellers.

Lapland, Finland

Finland is known to have authentic winter seasons likely because of its close proximity to the Arctic Circle. With that in mind, hearing about the Arctic, a traveller’s imagination would automatically think of snow-covered landscapes and rolling hills of white. Finland’s Lapland won’t disappoint and even has a nearby festive amusement park, dog sled rides, and maybe even spot a reindeer. Depending where your reindeer takes you, you may even get a glimpse of the Northern Lights!

Bruges is a quaint and historic city that will certainly get you into the holiday mood. During the winter season, you will find traditional Christmas markets and food stalls galore dripping with Belgian chocolate. Since Belgium as a country is well-known for chocolate production, make sure you brace yourself for all the chocolate findings. From gourmet chocolate shops, to Belgian waffles soaked in chocolate, this is a sweet lovers paradise. 

 Boulder, Colorado

Boulder is known for its scenic natural beauty, mountain hikes, and ski resorts. The perfect destination for the nature and fitness lover that doesn’t mind baring cold temperatures. A more active city with numerous hiking trails including the South Boulder trail capturing epic views of the Rocky Mountain foothills. Who knows, chances are you might be able to capture a peak at the local wildlife whilst exploring the lakes and trails.

Park City has two main resorts in which you can endeavor into winter sports like skiing and snowboarding. Apparently, fly fishing is also extremely popular even in the midst of winter. Whether you decide to try a new sport or play in the snowy terrain, Park City offers all types of winter retreats.
