MARRIOTT NAI YANG RESORT- PHUKET, THAILAND

Marriott Nai Yang Phuket - Lobby

HOTEL PROFILE

Arriving at Phuket airport was a breeze considering that the Marriott Nai Yang Resort offers airport transfer service. I liked that this location was only about 15 minutes from the airport. The moment I arrived, I was in awe at the bungalow structure of this property. The open air construction is beautiful and the property kind of descends onto the Nai Yang beach.

Fortunately, there is a golf cart driver to help transfer luggage to the room. My room was beside the Quan Spa and overlooking the canal style pool, which wraps around the hotel. The main pool faces the Nai Yang beach and Big Fish restaurant and bar. I really liked the multiple levels of this hotel with the various outdoor lounge areas.

ROOM OFFERINGS

Deluxe (Garden/Pool) View Room (1 King or 2 double beds – featured above): I stayed in a garden view room (with balcony) and found it very pleasant. I liked the style and ample space in my room, which was slighly larger than other deluxe rooms. I also liked to relax on the balcony in evenings.

Family Room & 1-2 bedroom suites: The perfect setup for connected bedrooms that provides privacy, yet divided space between rooms.

Beachfront Villa (1 & 2 bedroom): A popular option also for weddings, long-term stay, corporate retreats, etc.

RESTAURANTS

Big Fish restaurant: Firstly, I need to mention how lovely the staff is here. The food was absolutely divine and I savored it. I started off with crab cakes and then the most Italian pasta I’ve eaten (in Thailand) – beef fettucini pasta.

Big Fish bar – Mai Khao (coconut water and lychee juice) & also tried the mango lussi (non-alcoholic).

Andaman: A buffet breakfast is served here and also later transitions into a lunch and dinner menu. I normally started mornings with a fresh coconut, bottled fresh juices, and an assortment of breads.

A summary of my dinner selection: The starter was a cream of mushroom soup with spinach ravioli which had a light, creamy texture, although, definitely needed extra ravioli. The Pad Thai can be made according to spice tolerance and mango cheesecake with mango sorbet (featured below), that was simply amazing and the best dessert at the resort.

The Lobby: A peaceful spot to have a cocktail break or a snack. I tried the refreshing pomegranate mojito along with a vegetable platter. The view is also epic due to the elevation of this lobby.

QUAN SPA

For a change from the usual spa treatments, I was assigned to test out the Quan Signature Massage. The message lasted 60 minutes and definitely helped to relieve tension. I do suggest going with medium to high pressure though because I chose low pressure, which seemed to light of a treatment. Nonetheless, it was a calming experience considering I had a mini nap during the treatment, which is always a good sign. The Quan Spa is nearby the pool and right besides the majority of hotel rooms, so it is definitely a must try due to the range of services from facials, massages, hair removal, etc.

KIDS CORNER

A great place for kids (and even adults!) to participate in arts and crafts. I was lucky enough to get to try out some of these activities myself and I truly enjoyed my painting session. I was able to use bright colors to paint a couple of items including a tote bag with a playful design of a monkey and a floral design paper fan. If I found this time painting to be quite relaxing, how much more will kids love it here?
