MARRIOTT SUKHUMVIT- BANGKOK THAILAND

HOTEL PROFILE

This Marriott location is super convenient if you’re relying on public transport. A few minutes walk to Thong Lo BTS Skytrain. Marriott Sukhumvit is home to the trendy Octave sky bar with magnificent aerial views of Bangkok. I was fortunate to be able to visit the sky bar both day and night to see the contrast of city views.

The hotel room has a black and red color scheme with bold colors reflecting that of a business suite. The most attractive feature is the bathtub and the massive window covering the entire wall. You can check out the city views in a magnified way while having a bubble bath.

AMENITIES

There is also a rooftop pool to lounge at during sunny afternoons and again check out the city skyline views. In search of a fitness class, I had a 1-1 yoga session outdoor since I was the only one on the list, so that was great in my case. My instructor (Dear) was fantastic and it was the most dynamic yoga class ever taken at a hotel.

During the breakfast buffet, you can order takeaway juices and coffees on request. There are also prepacked chopped fruit available on your way out. It was a nice touch to the breakfast service. I always like to feel guilt-free about packing up food for later in the day and this hotel is prepared for those that like snacking.

Breakfast Highlights: creme brulee & bread pudding, juice blends that I can make my own mixed fruit drinks.

OCTAVE SKY BAR

I visited the Octave Sky Bar, that provided an incredible view over the city of Bangkok. I like the day view even more because you can see the definition of the buildings and thanks to the staff for allowing me to take some photos from up above. Not the best decision for my hair, but certainly worth the photo angle! The night I went on was rainy and therefore will definitely be revisiting again to check out the scene and enjoy the fruity cocktails.
