THE BEST TRIP PLANNER APPS: ESSENTIAL FOR TRAVEL BOOKINGS

With countless travel mobile applications being introduced, it can be a mess a confusion to know which apps are the most effective. In this post, I am going to round up a handful of mobile apps that have been the core of my travel planning. Of course, there are many other useful and similar apps aside from those mentioned here and I will discuss those in future posts as well. Let’s get into it!

SKYSCANNER

This is likely the most popularize travel app for booking flights amongst others. Time and time again, I have found the best deals on flights through this app. Regardless, of if I did an advanced search for flights or waited to the very last moment, this app came through with some sweet reasonable flight deals. You might even find yourself saving that extra $20-50, which goes a long way towards your budget in the end.

BOOKING.COM

Needless to say, again one of the more highly advertised sites for accommodation bookings and one of my favorites also! Within this app, it is possible to book much more than accommodation, however, this is my preference because I use other apps for flights, taxis, etc. In my experiences during long-term travel, I was able to find the most competitive prices here compared to other sites. Again, even if you are saving a few dollars, why should you overpay at all? It is very simple to search various accommodations by property type, number of nights, flexible dates, etc and if you want to confirm you free breakfast, even better!

AIRLINE APPS (IE.EMIRATES & KLM)

I know it might seem obvious to have these airline apps downloaded, but the fact is that many of you don’t bother. Believe me, I also didn’t want to use precious storage space for these apps either, but I found that I saved a lot of time checking in at the airport. I was able to simply have my phone scanned as my boarding pass as opposed to standing in the “never-ending” lines at the check-in counter. You bet that I felt relieved being able to bypass that line! Secondly, the app is great for keeping track of flight delay and cancellations as well as airline miles. Two of the most sleek designed apps with minimal flaws have been with KLM and Emirates Airlines, so you might want to check those out if you’re a frequent flyer.

BUSINESS CALENDAR

Another incredible mobile app for those of us that like to be extremely organized. This app is great for color-coordinating your calendar based on the different events and activities you have planned. For instance, when I was coordinating a blog trip previously, I was able to highlight my secured accommodation in ‘red’ while the other dates I had to fill remained in ‘green’. I am sure multiple mobile apps have this feature as well as being able to add alarm reminders for events and notes, of course. Yet, this app has been the best of the best, in my opinion.

Hopefully, these four mobile apps will give you a head start the next time you are planning to get away from it all. Look out for more upcoming posts on the various apps I use as a travel blogger.
